Melvin S. Weinberg, D.D.S. (a.k.a. “Dr. Mel”)
I believe that every person deserves not only a beautiful but a healthy smile. As your dentist, it is my job to help you achieve this. Think of me more than your dentist – I am your partner and I am passionate about forming long-lasting partnerships with my clients that lead to long-lasting dental health results.
My other passion is educating my clients about the powerful positive effects that excellent dental health has been proven to have on their overall health and well-being. And as my team and I here Aventura Dental Associations like to say “A healthy mouth is contagious!”.
My passion for dentistry had withstood the test of time. I’ve been a practicing dentist for almost 40 years(!). I completed my dental education at the University of Maryland, School of Dentistry in 1975. I continue my professional education and stay on top of the newest developments in dentistry. I am a long-standing member of the South Florida District Dental Society, American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, Intracoastal Dental Study Club, and the Dental Compendium Study Club. I am also a Board Member of Broward Dental Research Clinic at Broward College and past-President of the North Dade Dental Society.
When I am not helping my clients, I like to spend my time with my lovely wife Kathy, to whom I’ve been married for over 20 years. I am an avid musician and play with several local band – ranging from jazz to blues to classic and international rock – where I play the drums. As a retired Lt Colonel USAF reservist, I volunteer my time and my professional expertise by providing pro bono dental care to vets through the United Way non-profit program. I also stay active in my local community by volunteering my time and expertise as a dentist in the Donated Dental Services pro bono program.
My patients know me as a compassionate, trustworthy dentist, who truly cares about them and their dental health. I take time to talk with each patient and we determine together what is best for them, and their individual circumstances. My goal is that each and every patient that comes to Aventura Dental Associates has a truly pleasant experience and feels that they’ve been truly “heard” by me and my team.
